Chances are you haven’t met someone in the mortgage loan industry quite like Lona Craig. For starters, her expertise in window tinting landed her a job as a special effects technician in the 1990’s movie Blind Fury and later as an extra in Stephen King's psychological thriller movie, Misery. She’s battled intense wildfires and protected our homes and forests as a wildland firefighter for four years at the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District. Which lead to a 20 year medical career to include a degree in Radiology and elevated into a cardiovascular interventional technologist where she treated heart attack patients as an emergency response team member; she’s always had a passion for helping others. Her sense of adventure is unrivaled.

She’s traveled and worked around the world, including California, Hawaii, Georgia, Connecticut, and even Australia. She chose to return to Reno, where she grew up because there’s no place like home.

Today, as a reverse mortgage specialist for Fairway IMC, Lona enjoys connecting with people throughout northern Nevada to help them navigate the often-confusing home buying process. At Fairway, she’s part of a team of loan officers and a branch manager that has been together approaching 20 years. They are a 100% employee-owned company with a solid reputation. A perpetual learner, Lona was determined to get her mortgage origination license in both Nevada and California, although it wasn’t a requirement of the position. She’s a natural fit for Fairway as she’s built her career and life on solving problems and the power of connection. She prides herself on creating sustainable homeownership through responsible lending in the communities in which we live and work.
