My name is Linda Rose Guthrie. I've lived in Atlanta since 1972. I grew up in Illinois in the western suburb of Chicago called Downers Grove, and I love Atlanta.
My financial advisor looked at my situation, my financial situation, and said, you ought to consider a reverse mortgage. It sounded good to me because it would give me some flexibility.
I had done some research on my own over the years on reverse mortgages, and I was not impressed. Fairway had a lot of information for me and that was very important to me.
And so they took me through every possible step in the process of getting a reverse mortgage and then how can I access the funds after the reverse mortgage. I understood the process and it's been relatively easy to draw down on them. I feel as though
I now have some money that I can fall back on, if I need it. And it really just changed everything.
It really did change my entire financial horizon because I'm now a person on a fixed income. And, of course you could have a reverse mortgage and still have money left depending on your situation.
So I just think it's an ideal answer to somebody in their retirement years.
